SWFCCP Expands Support for Those with Chronic Pain
Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme is delighted to announce that they have secured funding from Sport England to expand their chronic pain management sessions.
Since launching the sessions last year in partnership with Hallamshire Physiotherapy, the programme has contributed to an estimated £100,000 in cost savings for the National Health Service.
Sessions, which are regularly attended by over 40 participants, take place at the SWFC Community Facility on Claywheels Lane and have been transforming lives through tailored exercise and educational guidance leading to participants reporting improvements in their overall health and well-being.
Sean Graves, Health Manager at SWFCCP, welcomed the new funding, stating:
"This funding not only allows us to continue supporting the Hillsborough community but also enables us to expand our services to new areas. We aim to establish accessible hubs that provide more opportunities for positive change across Sheffield."
Pete Molloy, a regular participant, shared his experience:
"I love attending the sessions. The staff are fantastic, very clear with instructions, incredibly supportive, and always prepared with alternative exercises if someone is struggling. Knowing the funding will continue is brilliant news because these sessions have truly changed my life."
