SWFCCP to Expand Family Hubs
Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme (SWFCCP) is delighted to have received funding from Sheffield City Council to expand its Family Hubs sessions through the upskilling and training of new parents. These parents will become Family Hubs leaders, shaping the programme's future direction.
The Family Hubs and Start for Life sessions have been running since January 2024 and have already made a tremendous impact on the lives of mums.
One mum, Kate, has been attending the programme with her daughter Phoebe since it began. "It's a really nice group; we've met some lovely mums, and Phoebe loves it!" said Kate.
The range of family-centred sessions supports mums by offering activities such as soft play, arts and crafts, music play, sensory play, physical activity, and fitness sessions.
Now, thanks to further investment from Sheffield City Council, staff from SWFCCP will help participants gain qualifications and skills to get involved in the day-to-day running of the sessions, aiming to further grow and extend the reach of the programme.
Sean Graves, Health Manager at SWFCCP, said: "We're delighted to receive this funding to support new mums and expand our provision in the Hillsborough and Richmond communities."
