SWFCCP Host Regional PL Kicks Cup!
Last Wednesday, Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme hosted the annual Premier League Kicks Cup tournament at Hallam University Sports Park.
Twenty-three teams took part in the Under-16 tournament, which saw the opportunity to compete in the Nationals tournament in the summer, up for grabs.
Alongside the tournament, staff delivered mental health workshops to educate the importance of positive mental well-being!
SWFC academy graduate Sean Fusire also made an appearance, where he hosted a Q&A answering questions and inspiring the kids.
Paul Hebda, SWFC Youth and Integration Manager, showed high praise for all those involved. He said: “It was fantastic to see young people come together from different cultures and communities whilst representing their football clubs. This is exactly what the Premier League Kicks project is about!"
The PL Kicks campaign was launched in 2006 and today there are 90 clubs from the English football pyramid that host free weekly football and education sessions, as part of the programme, as per The Premier League website.
