Kids Plant Trees!
SWFCCP partners with the local not-for-profit organisation Kids Plant Trees, which works to provide more children in South Yorkshire the opportunity to engage with nature.
Over the past few months, community staff from Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme have worked with volunteers from Kids Plant Trees to transform green spaces in primary schools throughout Sheffield as a part of the Premier League Primary Stars Programme.
They've done this through a series of carefully delivered workshops that not only aim to teach kids the importance of respecting the environment but also help them focus, providing a break from the classroom.
After the sessions, school teachers have been saying that children who attended the workshop are more engaging and ready for learning than those who didn't take part.
Brett Pitcher, SWFCCP Participation Manager, said: "It's been brilliant to partner with Kids Plant Trees to promote positive mental health by transforming the outdoor spaces of the schools we're already working with. This is just one of the many benefits schools we work with can receive as a part of our primary school packages."
