SWFCCP Receives Armed Forces Covenant Funding to Support Local Veterans

SWFCCP has been awarded funding from the Armed Forces Covenant to provide support for veterans in Sheffield. Through this funding, SWFCCP aims to enhance the lives of veterans by offering activities that will help them reintegrate into their communities and provide a valuable lifeline for those in need.

The project, named Active Owls Veterans, will feature a mental health talking club, a veterans fitness club, and the SWFCCP buddy system. “These initiatives will allow us (SWFCCP) to offer both group and 1-1 support to all veterans who need it, not just those that support SWFC,” said James Ball, Health Officer.

All sessions will be conducted in a safe space, enabling participants to connect with like-minded individuals in a non-judgmental environment. The fitness club will take place pitch-side at Hillsborough Stadium and provide inclusive and accessible activities to all who attend.
