Empowering Edith with our Inclusive PL Kicks session!
For the last six months, Edith has been attending our Premier League Kicks PAN-Disability Inclusive session at Concord Sports Centre. The session, which runs every Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, is designed to allow those with a broad spectrum of impairments and health conditions to play the game we all know and love.
Since 10-year-old Edith first started attending the sessions, she has been developing the skills and techniques to improve her football abilities, as well as also having fun, being active and making lots of new friends.
Edith has Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, which affects the control she has over her lower body and leg muscles. However, she doesn't let that stop her. Edith has shown great progression through her confidence and football skills. She's always giving 100% and a pleasure to coach.
Edith's mum said: “After her [Edith’s] operation she was really upset that she had to temporarly stop coming. She looks forward to playing football and having fun every week and now she's back she looks happier than ever!”
Paul Hebda, Youth & Integration Manager said: “Our PAN-Disability and Inclusive Kicks sessions offer fantastic opportunities for young people to participate and engage in football and physical activity in a safe, friendly and well-structured environment.”
