College Students Make Non-League Debut!
Two students from Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme's college courses recently marked their debut in non-league side Hallam FC.
Their introduction to non-league football has been made possible by the community college's brand-new pathway, designed to help players break into semi-professional football teams.
On Saturday, the 28th of October, Joe Gore and Freddie Simmons, students of SWFCCP, showcased their skills as they represented Hallam FC in the FA Vase.
Reflecting on his debut, Joe Gore, a student of SWFCCP, expressed his gratitude, stating, "I'm incredibly thankful for this opportunity to sign with a semi-professional club and make my debut."
Freddie Simmons, another SWFCCP student, added, "I'd like to express my gratitude for the chance to play for Hallam FC through SWFCCP and extend my thanks to the coaches who supported me on this journey."
With six football teams that compete every Wednesday in the National Football Youth League and CEFA leagues, SWFCCP's college courses have never been more popular, with a record number of students thanks to the facilities, dedicated staff, and vast opportunities that are available.
