Community Football Coaching: Theory to Practice
On this pathway, students are expected to undertake independent personal learning across all years, a weekly placement, and attend all lectures and workshops. The students are lucky enough to have FA coaching qualifications funded by the university which include ‘introduction to football coaching’ (old level 1) and UEFA C (old level 2). If students take these options up and are selected, they can also do their UEFA B qualification which allows them to coach in academy systems and at a high level which includes semi-professional clubs.
Students are also supported by a member of staff from the EFL team who is focused on helping them academically. They come to the club twice a year to have a one-to-one meeting with students to discuss a range of areas which are affecting their academic life, either positively or negatively.
Entry grade: MMP at extended level 3 – 80 UCAS points
