Premier League Kicks is one of the Premier League’s flagship community programmes and is joint funded by Sport England.

PL Kicks revolves around weekly sessions held in regular locations which the local youths attend.

The Sheffield Wednesday Community Team aim to engage with youngsters in constructive activities, including a wide variety of sports, coaching, music, educational and personal development sessions, communities have been transformed with impressive sports participation rates and the authorities reporting significant reductions in anti-social behaviour.

The scheme has also enabled thousands of youngsters to find routes into education, training and employment.

One of the highlights of the programme is the annual Premier League Kicks Cup which brings together all of the clubs for a showpiece small-sided football competition.

This year, the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme will be hosting a PL Kicks event on Saturday 27th January 2018, at Parkwood Academy.

Football teams aged 12 to 14 years from the north of England attending the tournament include, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Leeds, Doncaster, Barnsley, Rotherham, Hull, Leeds, Sunderland & Newcastle.

The two winning teams will receive Sheffield Wednesday awards and prizes.

The event will run 11am until 3pm, with plenty of activities open to the public – you’ll find something for every member of the family!

Activities for open access include: Healthy Eating Workshop w/ Smoothie Bike, Arts & Crafts Workshop, Free Play Football & Sports, Community Cohesion Workshop (Chilipep), Employment & Volunteering Workshop (Sheffield Employment Programme), Tuck Shop Stall (TBD).
