Community Officer

Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme is looking to appoint a new Community Officer to administrate, manage and oversee the Participation strand of the Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme (SWFCCP) by working with the management team, staff, partners and young people to implement and deliver a first-class participation pathway strategy. The pathway will encompass school-based delivery (including the Premier League Primary Stars Programme), soccer camps, SWFC matchday activities, SWFC Development Centre, plus any relevant participation projects.

Hours worked per week: Full time: 37 hours per week

Salary: Negotiable £21,000 – £24,500 per annum

Active Through Football Community Activator

‘Active Through Football’ is a new programme from Sport England, which is funded by the National Lottery and delivered by the Football Foundation. The aim of ‘Active Through Football’ is to increase activity levels and create sustained behaviour change using a ‘Place-based approach’ by bringing key local stakeholders together as a consortium to create and deliver a plan for their local area or ‘Place’. The plans will be based predominately on activating key settings through the delivery of recreational and informal small-sided football activity and developed through community engagement.

Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders

Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme is looking to appoint a number of Team Leaders and Assistant Team Leaders for their Summer NCS programmes.

The successful candidates will be youth-focused and energetic with a passion for working with young people. The programmes are 2 weeks in duration requiring a 1-week residential stay.

NCS is a voluntary programme for 16–17-year-olds that promotes:

• A more cohesive society
• A more responsible society by supporting the transition into adulthood for young people
• A more engaged society by enabling young people to work together to create social action projects in their communities.

By providing a space for young people to explore who they are and who they want to be. Making young people feel at home regardless of their background, supporting them to step outside of their comfort zone, meet new people and raise voices together to make a positive difference in the local community.
