The course is aiming to provide opportunities to those who are aged 16-24 and who are not currently in education, employment or training. The aim to “change their lives for the better”.
The traineeship involves the individual coming to Sheffield Wednesday Football Club on a 13 week programme.
The programme consists of the following four aims:
- Work Preparation Training – CV writing, Interview preparation & skills.
- Functional skills – Attend Maths & English lessons with qualified tutors to gain the subject qualification up to Level 2.
- A qualification in Customer Services at level 1.
- A placement in a work experience environment for 12 weeks.
Upon a successful outcome of the programme trainees will be better placed to go into further education, an apprenticeship or employment.
As part of the programme the trainees will gain a minimum of 100 hours work experience on a placement with professional employers in Sheffield. Whilst on placement they can apply skills acquired during the study of a Customer Service Course with ourselves, whilst also understanding and developing in a work environment.
Placements opportunities include various roles at SWFC, and with other employers in Sheffield. We will have a list of employers supporting the programme, where the trainee can choose what placement they would be interested in.
