Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme are very pleased to be working with the Premier League in delivering their PL Primary Stars initiative.

The programme uses the encouragement from professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active, and develop important life skills. All of which is available in every 5-11 years primary school classrooms across England and Wales.

Our staff have been working with teachers to deliver educational sessions in a range of subjects within local partner schools, including PE, Maths and English – with some special appearances from Sheffield Wednesday FC players.

Premier League values underpin everything on offer, encouraging children to:

  • Be ambitious – work hard and never give up on their goals
  • Be inspiring – set a great example to others
  • Be connected –work well with others and in a team
  • Be fair – treat people equally and think of others

Teaching materials cover subjects from English and maths to teamwork and PE, with free to download activity ideas, worksheets, lesson plans, fun assemblies and exclusive videos.

Sheffield Wednesday Community Staff have been visiting primary schools across South Yorkshire this week celebrating Girls Football Week. Working with groups of girls with a mixture of those who play football/don’t play football/ hate football and love football.
