As part of the Premier League Primary Stars programme, KS1 students from Hillsborough, Hallam and Wharncliffe Side Primary School played a series of games coached by Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme Coaches.

The small groups of classes arrived on Friday 1st December to the Training Ground, where they participated in football activities including ‘power and finesse’, ‘handball to football’ and ‘noughts and crosses’.

These events are a great opportunity for primary school teachers to experience some alternative games to play with their KS1 classes, and how to progress their PE skills in football and other sports.

For an extra treat for participating in the SWFCCP Football Skills Festival, the three schools were taken on a tour of Hillsborough Stadium.

The children found an extra special guest in the Wednesday players changing room – Ozzie Owl was delighted to meet and have pictures with all the students!
