Hillsborough was taken over by superheros on May 4th for none other than Cash For Kids Superhero Day!
Hallam FM Cash for Kids charity helps disadvantaged and disabled children across the county. Cash for Kids aims to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people across South Yorkshire who need a helping hand.
Children from Mansel and Lound Juniors Primary School were welcomed to Hillsborough Stadium by the Sheffield Wednesday Community Superhero Staff, where they completed group activities linking to the characteristics of a Superhero.
Hallam FM Radio Presenter Big John and his team surprised the kids and they even got to do a shout-out for the radio.
They were then led around the Sheffield Wednesday pitch for a Sponsored Walk.
Ending with fun football games and activities at the Sheffield Wednesday Training Ground.
Mansel Primary School thoroughly enjoyed their with the SWFC Community Programme saying, “We had an amazing time and the kids haven’t stopped talking about it since!”
The Hallam FM team were also present at the Norwich Home Game on Sunday and could be found at the Fans Zone next to the Ticket Office.
Joining them at the Fans Zone was cage football, inflatable goal, glitter tattoos, face painting and garden games!
Hallam FM Cash For Kids Superhero Day was able to raise a total of £28,176.79 for local Sheffield communities!
Premier League Coordinator, Isobel Dunn, was extremely pleased with the enthusiasm from the kids, tutors, staff and Hallam FM as a whole – making the day a very special event.
