On the 3rd July SWFC coaches travelled to one of the largest towns in County Wexford, Ireland; John Williams, Marcus Brameld, Rob Poulter, Fiona Mooney, Neil Cluxton and Dale Spragg made their way to the town of Emniscorthy to spend five days with 120 young football enthusiasts.

The trip consisted of expert coaching, along with replica SWFC shirts and training balls being given to the kids, which included an all-girls group.

All sessions are supported through the partnership with Leisuremax, and thanks to Riverside Park Hotel.

The development centre ran by Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme aims to provide quality training, and hopes to find future talented players.

This specific trip found two extremely talented under 9 year old attendees, who were picked to trial at the SWFC academy. Billy and Evan from Wexford will be showing off their skills on the 21st-25th August. Good luck!

In the coming weekend, twenty-four 13 to 15-year-old players and twenty of their parents will be travelling to Sheffield Wednesday from Eire for a 4-day trip.

During the trip, they will be playing games against Academy and local Grass Roots team ‘Wisewood Juniors’.

They will also be attending the SWFC vs QPR match where they will be playing a half-time game. Let the games begin!
