SWFCCP has delivered NCS since 2013, engaging over 3000 young people. During that time, teenagers have delivered over 180,000 hours of social action in Sheffield which has included raising money for local charities and volunteering in care homes.
Megan Brown graduated NCS with the Owls Community Programme in 2015 and believes the programme has changed her life.
She said: “It sounds cliché but NCS really did change my life.”
“I surprised myself by even signing up to the programme, but I couldn’t imagine where I would be or what I would be doing right now if I hadn’t done it.”
“The programme has provided me with endless opportunities to meet new people and take on exciting new challenges.”
“It really is an amazing way to spend four weeks of your summer and I would urge everyone to get on board and sign up!”
Ann Marie Morgan, NCS manager at SWFCCP, is delighted to be part of the new network of delivery partners.
She said: “Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme is proud to be continuing its long-standing relationship with NCS and looking forward to developing a new, dynamic programme in line with the new network for our community of young adults.”
