BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts and Dance

Campus: Sheffield Wednesday Football Club

About this Course

This course is equivalent to three A Levels and is assessed by performance and coursework. The course is split into 18 modules that all relate to dance and performing arts. You will study wider areas of the dance sector such as performing arts business, historical context, the healthy performer and dance in the community. The core course focuses on the development of technical and performance skills across a range of dance styles. You will study and create your own choreography and work towards rehearsing and performing in productions.

What will I study?

Students benefit from being involved with a wide range of performance opportunities, theatre trips, working with professional companies and having visits from industry dancers, agencies and guest speakers. In addition to the many performances the students are involved in, there is ample opportunity to perform at outside venues and take part in workshops and dance intensives. We invite professional guests (dance companies and industry dancers) to work alongside with us on a regular basis

Included in all programmes:

  • One to one mentorship
  • Open to both girls and boys
  • Highly qualified coaches
  • State of the art facilities

We have a brand new, state of the art, education facility based at Hillsborough, complete with computer suites and a communal area for learners. The Performing Arts Dance programme will be managed by Sheffield Wednesday FC and INK Dance with top quality education teachers, coaches and facilities.

Also included is GCSE in English and maths that is taught onsite by specialist teachers.
